Business Profile

About Us... Our team at Patricks with Rooms is the key to our success. There is not one role more important than another; it is the combined team work that ensures that our customer experience "Seriously good food, wine, service and sleep".

A team of course needs to be managed and that is down to us, the very much hands on owners of Patricks with Rooms.

We are two husband and wife teams: Myself - Catherine, and Patrick Walsh who first set up the business in October 1993 and my sister Sally and Dean Fuller who unwittingly got sucked in at a very early stage.

Patrick is half Irish but was born and raised in Middlesbrough. He studied Catering in Newcastle College before moving down to London to work. I was born in Horsham and moved up and down the M4 corridor due to my Fathers career with British Steel. My family finally settled in Swansea which enabled me to do my Catering qualifications at Neath college before moving back to the southern counties to work. Pat and I meet in Henley on Thames where we both worked for the training department of Berni Inns setting up new build restaurants.

It was then that our dream of opening our own restaurant was turned into a reality and in 1993 with the financial backing of my parents we moved to Swansea to buy the lease on a 32 seat restaurant that we renamed Patricks.

Sally my younger sister (believe it or not) and her then partner Dean had their own careers in Beauty Therapy and Retail Management respectively. They worked every spare minute with us to help make Patricks a success, and very shortly after opening they married and joined us as partners in the business.

Really we have a partnership of six, as without the infamous Margaret and Brian Algar, our parents, the business would not have got off the ground. So much more than just the financial support, it is the pure physical and mental support they give us.

Together we make a seriously good team.

More Information... Patricks with rooms is an established family run Restaurant with rooms. Our menus are designed by the chef patrons, the rooms designed by our two sister directors who also have a great deal of impact on the wine and cocktail list, especially the tasting. The four partners are supported by a committed team which all adds up to offering our guest a truly memorable time.

Seriously Good Food
The excitement for Patricks with Rooms food is not only the customers, it is equalled by that of the teams. Flavour, freshness and innovation are what you can expect from our menus.

Early mornings you may see our team of chefs out on a field trip picking sloe berries for the Christmas menu, six months down the line, or scrambling across the rock pools for that secret location of laverbread.

We have even invested in a green house and raised beds to ensure that the pea shoots are picked as and when they are needed, micro herbs are plentiful and so that the chefs can experiment with new flavours for the up and coming menus.

Room features and booking policies
Z Bed for children up to 12 years of age (maximum of 2 per room) @ £30.00

Cot and mashed up breakfast @ £10.00

Most of our rooms can be converted into twin beds - just let us know when you book.

Our check in time is from 2.30pm, with check out at 11am.

The Gym
The gym is in the Boat House section of 'Patricks with Rooms' accessed via the drive. It is split into two rooms;-

A free weights room that also has a dip bar and pull up bar and the rowing machine.
The cardio room houses the running and cross training machines, punch bag, and static bike.

You will need to sign in at reception and obtain a toggle for entry and then once training has finished sign out and hand in toggle.

Christmas at Patricks With Rooms
We love Christmas and New Year. The decorations will be in evidence from the 1st December making for a magical experience.
We have many ways for you to celebrate with us, from a new autumn cocktail menu in the lounge bar to a full on nights stay with our food and wine matching menu.

Lunch or dinner in our romantic restaurant or relaxed colonial style lounge bar.

New Years Eve is a memorable evening, that starts with canapés and cocktails in the lounge bar and finishes with celebrating the New Year In. Dancing and singing optional !!
